Whatever brings you to investigating individual counseling, whether it is dealing with stressors, changing the way you process emotions, or just want internal growth or validation to your issue with someone who isn’t biased or overly involved in your situation, then individual therapy is right for you. We will nurture your Growth Mindset, identify challenges, and shift your perspective in a healthier direction.
What to Expect:
My system will send you preliminary paperwork such as confidentiality agreement, policy, and general intake so when you come into session I have a general idea of what you want to work on. We will then discuss your goals and work together to come up with a plan to work toward achieving those goals!
Areas of Expertise:
Although most clinicians who have a master’s degree and a professional license can touch on a wide variety of issues and usually assist, there are what we call specialties. Specialties either indicate certification of course specific work in that narrow area, or a specialty can also be a clinical perspective that fits well with the emotional intelligence and personality of the clinician. What we call a clinical purview or expertise in a given subject. While making your decision, consider some of my specialties below. If yours is not listed, don’t hesitate to reach out to see if we would be a good fit!

Styles of therapy:
I will try not to throw a barrage of clinical acronyms out here. The primary way I start therapy is using Rogerian Person-Centered. It creates a warm and welcoming environment for you to feel not only calm, protected, and heard, but person-centered uses something called unconditional positive regard and empathic active listening. Some “therapeutic modalities” I use are Gestalt, Adlerian, CBT, ACT, mindfulness, ABA, Solution-focused, existential and the holy grail that deserves mentioning: eclectic/integrative which is a combination of different therapy styles. This list is to inform you there are many different strategies and tools that are uniquely useful depending on your needs and issues you want to work on. Efficient therapists are effectively likened to chameleons; adapting to their environment. In this case, adapting to you!
For those that have need of it, I am happy to offer Individual Counseling via Telehealth.
